"Civitas" Collages Urbanísticos de Marita Ibañez

Como arquitectos que somos es nuestro deber proveer a nuestras ciudades de normas y ordenanzas que apoyen el crecimiento de nuestras urbes de manera ordenada y acotada.  Sin embargo, ¿Qué sucede cuando no hay suficiente control urbano y las metrópolis empiezan a lucir más como un monstruo amorfo en vez de parecerse a ese “algo bello” que habíamos planificado? ¿Qué es lo que terminan transmitiendo estas ciudades? ¿Cuáles son los nuevos espacios que se crean? ¿Qué tipos de volúmenes se forman? ¿Qué composición tienen sus fachadas? 

Sabemos que las respuestas a estas preguntas pueden ser infinitas, sin embargo esta vez es la artista peruana Marita Ibañez la que responde a estas interrogantes a través de su muestra “Civitas” y donde gracias a unas series de dibujos, grabados y collages de fotografías de la ciudad de Lima-Perú nos hace reflexionar acerca de una ciudad que no solo se habita sino también se transforma.

As architects, our duty is to provide our cities with laws for the future development of our metropolis. But what happens when cities start to grow without control and start looking as a terrible monster? What kinds of spaces are created? What kinds of volumes are formed? What kind of composition do the facades have?

These questions have a lot of answers. However, this time it is Peruvian artist Marita Ibañez who responds to them through paintings and photographic collages in her exposition “Civitas” at the Alianza Francesa in Lima Peru. She makes us reflect about how cities change and how that affects us.
