Estadio Gremio Arena. Porto Alegre, Brasil

¡Hola Amigos de Arquitectitis!, en esta nueva entrega voy a contarles sobre la visita que realice  al  Gremio Arena de Porto Alegre, inaugurado en diciembre último. Este coloso de metal, concreto y de piel azul pertenece a uno de los más grandes, antiguos y populares equipos de Brasil y de Rio Grande do Sul, el “Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense” ganador de varios campeonatos a nivel nacional e internacional.

El Gremio Arena fue proyectado por el reconocido estudio de arquitectura PLARQ con diversas oficinas en Brasil y Portugal y ejecutada por una de las mayores constructoras de Brasil y de América, la Constructora OAS.

Proyectado no solamente para ser un simple y aislado estadio en la zona norte de Porto Alegre donde solo funcionaria para los eventuales partidos de futbol sino que fue proyectado como un estadio autosustentable y  proyectado hacia una futura integración a un centro de convenciones, un hotel, un centro comercial asi como un condominio de departamentos y casas todo esto complementados con  diversos espacios dentro del mismo estadio, como Restaurantes, espacios multiusos y en donde los camarotes de los socios también pueden funcionar como oficinas dentro del horario comercial.

El exterior del Gremio Arena llama la atención por los detalles verticales en color azul así como la estructura metálica superior de color blanco (junto con el color negro son los colores oficiales de Gremio) que sirve de sustento a la estructura de cobertura del estadio que ayuda a proteger a los asistentes de las inclemencias del tiempo. El Gremio Arena cuenta con rampas para acceder a los niveles intermedios que facilita la accesibilidad del público general y en especial a los asistentes con capacidad motora limitada.

Ingresando al Gremio Arena se aprecia los estacionamientos para más de 600 autos donde tienen prioridad los autos que usan combustibles menos contaminantes, y ya caminando por el interior del estadio, el color azul también domina el espacio gracias a las bancas ergonómicas que se encuentran en las graderías, brindando comodidad para 60,540 almas.

 Lo que me dio especial satisfacción fueron los espacios especiales para los asistentes con capacidad motora limitada así como el fácil acceso a los servicios higiénicos para estos, a mi parecer es uno de los puntos fuertes del estadio junto a su importancia arquitectónica y por ser sustentable, dado que en los estadios diseñados en décadas pasadas no estaba bien reglamentado los espacios para los asistentes con capacidad motora limitada.

Cabe destacar que El Gremio Arena es uno de los pocos estadios en el mundo que tiene la certificación LEED de la GBC Brasil (Green Building Council Brasil), la cual certifica los edificios que tienen la capacidad de generar el menor impacto posible al medio ambiente gracias a su eficiencia energética y el uso especial de energías alternativas así como el uso eficiente del consumo del agua que es el caso del Gremio Arena que reutiliza el agua de lluvia para regar el campo principal, también pude observar un espacio permanente para materiales reciclables donde se separa la basura por su origen.

Conocer el Gremio Arena fue una experiencia satisfactoria desde la perspectiva de apreciar una edificación de tal magnitud arquitectónica y de conciencia autosustentable.

Hello Arquitectitis friends!, In this new release I will tell you about the visit that I make to Gremio Arena of Porto Alegre, which opened last December. This colossus of metal, concrete and blue skin belongs to one of the largest, oldest and most popular teams in Brazil and Rio Grande do Sul, the "Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense" won several national championships and international.

The Gremio Arena was designed by the renowned architectural firm PLARQ with several offices in Brazil and Portugal and executed by one of the largest construction companies in Brazil and Latinamerica, the OAS Construction Company.

Designed not only to be a simple and isolated stadium in the north of Porto Alegre where only work for any football games but was designed as a self-sustaining stage and projected towards future integration into a convention center, a hotel, a shopping center as well as a condominium homes all this complemented with various spaces within the stadium as restaurants, multipurpose spaces and cabins where partners can also function as offices within business hours.

The exterior of the Gremio Arena draws attention to detail in blue vertical glass, metal structure and white top (along with the color black are the official colors of Gremio) that underpins the stadium structure that helps cover to protect espectators from inclement weather. The Gremio Arena has ramps to access the intermediate levels to facilitate the accessibility of the general public and especially to the audience with limited motor skills.

Entering the Gremio Arena seen the parking for over 600 cars where have priority using cleaner fuels, and already walking inside the stadium, the blue color also dominates the space thanks to the ergonomic seats that are in the bleachers, providing comfort for 60.540 souls.

What gave me particular satisfaction were special spaces for attendees with limited motor skills as well as easy access to toilets for these, in my opinion is one of the strengths of the stadium along with his architectural significance and for being sustainable, as in stadiums designed in decades past was not well regulated spaces for attendees with limited motor skills.

Onsite Gremio Arena is one of the few stadiums in the world that is certified LEED of GBC Brasil (Brazil Green Building Council), which certifies buildings that have the ability to generate the least impact to the environment through to their energy efficiency and use of alternative energy special and efficient use of water consumption in the case of Gremio Arena that reuses rainwater to irrigate the main course, I could also see a permanent space for recyclable materials where separates garbage in origin.

Knowing the Gremio Arena was a satisfying experience from the perspective of assessing a building of such magnitude and conscience architectural self-sustaining.
