Caso Inspirador 2: +POOL se hará realidad para el 2016

New York esta de fiesta ya que se prevé que para el 2016 se culmine la construcción de su primera piscina flotante en el East River, la cual filtrará y limpiará el río dotando así a la ciudad de un espacio donde los los ciudadanos puedan disfrutar de sus costas . Este proyecto se ha vuelto realidad gracias a la la contribución generosa de muchos ciudadanos que esta semana han llegado a reunir la cantidad de 250 000$ que se necesitaban para llevar a cabo la obra. 

El proyecto pertenecen a los estudios Family y Playlab que en conjunto con muchos equipos especializados y de planificación han persistido en llevar a cabo un sueño que ahora podrán verlo hecho realidad. Sin duda todo un caso inspirador y fichado por nuestro equipo desde hace años (para ver nota pinchad aquí). ¡Enhorabuena New Yorkers! Así se logran los grandes proyectos, con persistencia y unión entre todos.

The FADfest is the Festival of All Design organised by the FAD (Fostering Arts and Design), an association of professionals and businesses founded in 1903 in Barcelona whose objective is the promotion of design, architecture and the arts. The FADfest is a showcase through which to discover the best proposals of the year in architecture, interior decoration, graphic design, advertising, industrial design, the crafts, art and fashion held in Barcelona between the 25th of June and the 11th of July, for the first time at the Disseny Hub Barcelona.

¿Quién no ha cuestionado alguna vez el sistema educativo de su escuela de Arquitectura? ¿Es bueno pasar noches y noches en vela para poder llegar a un resultado "optimo" en el proyecto final de carrera para sacar el título de Arquitecto?. Por otro lado: ¿Cual es el límite creativo?¿Hasta dónde se tiene que hay que presionar a los alumnos para que mejoren sus proyectos? ¿Quienes serán los futuros arquitectos super estrellas que construirán las ciudades en el futuro? 

Todas estas cuestiones las podemos ver reflejadas en el documental  "Archiculture" donde estudiantes y profesores de Arquitectura exponen sus propios puntos de vista a estas complejas preguntas a través del seguimiento a un grupo de estudiantes en su último semestre en el Instituto Pratt de la ciudad de Nueva York. 

El filme aún no tiene fecha de estreno en Europa, sin embargo esperamos que las inquietudes y conclusiones que se plantean en este documental no queden como una mera idea y llevemos a nuestra profesión a un paso hacia adelante. ¿No creen?

Archiculture is a documentary film that examines the strengths and perils of architectural education. The film follows a group of young design students through their final semester at Pratt Institute in New York City. The students interactions and reactions help illustrate the challenges of being a young aspiring designer in today’s world. The film weaves back and forth between the architectural studio and the architectural profession creating convincing impressions between students and industry leading professionals.

The film brings the audience into the studio world with an authentic look at the friendships, culture and habits that result from peer-to-peer learning. From the dedicated all-nighters, to the ubiquitous coffee-runs, these students spend day and night together struggling through the same set of questions and problems. In what sometimes seems like cut-throat competition, the film illustrates the symbiotic benefits that arise in the shared studio environment.

Another significant theme in the film focuses on the benefits and detriments associated with studio critique system. From one-on-one reviews, to public juried critiques, the film shows the ups and downs of these often intense interactions. The film also addresses the trend of training “star” architects and begs the question of how we should go about training the next generation of designers.

Los PREMIOS ISARCH, son unos premios internacionales dirigidos a estudiantes de Arquitectura.

Se crean con la finalidad de configurar una plataforma para la difusión y el debate de las soluciones aportadas por los alumnos de arquitectura dentro del marco de la universidad.

Desde los PREMIOS ISARCH queremos alentar a los más jóvenes en el debate arquitectónico desde su particular punto de vista, entendiendo que está será la concepción de la arquitectura del futuro.

Puede inscribirse cualquier estudiante de arquitectura o joven arquitecto que no haya obtenido el título antes de 3 años desde la entrega de la documentación. Las propuestas pueden ser presentadas por un estudiante o un equipo de estudiantes.

Cada participante o equipo de participantes podrá presentar tantos proyectos como desee, independientemente de su tipología, programa y presupuesto. El jurado tendrá en cuenta todas las obras propuestas.

Inscripción del 23 Abril al 15 octubre

The ISARCHAwards are international awards targeting students of architecture.

The aim is to provide a platform for debate surrounding the architecture solutions students contribute within the framework of their university studies.

A further objective of the ISARCH Awards is to encourage young people to join the debate on architecture, contributing their unique vision and opinions.

The competition is opened to all students of architecture and young architects that have graduated within the last 3 years prior to the date of sending in the necessary documents. 


Each participant or team participants may submit as many projects as they wish, regardless of their nature, programme and budget. The panel of judges will take all entries into consideration.

The proposals may be entered by individual students or groups of students.

Registration: 23rd April – 15th October

Visitando la Kunsthaus de Peter Zumthor / Visiting The Kunsthaus of Peter Zumthor

Y se hizo el sol...tras atravesar los Alpes austríacos, tren batallando contra las últimas nieves primaverales y dejando en nuestras retinas paisajes impresionantes, arribamos a la rivera del lago Constanza; la pequeña Bregenz, encantadora, mecía en la orilla una perla abstracta: 15 años lleva anclada, una genial obra, la Kunsthaus de Peter Zumthor.

Su aspecto de líneas depuradas, de escala acorde con su enclave, nos ofrece una primera parada, la plaza donde se halla el café, dura, perfecto contraste entre la magnificiencia del lago y su verde orilla, animado preámbulo antes de entrar al espacio mágico...

Sinceramente, dentro del mismo no sé si es más espectacular el tránsito por las escaleras etéreas, la luz cenital en cada planta, culpable de mutar nuestra percepción, o la retícula utilizada, que se extiende a lo largo, ancho y alto de cada resquicio del mismo, en perfecta, casi, ejecución... Por muy anodina que sea la muestra, toda persona saldrá alucinada, porque la desnudez y complejidad del mismo, hará las delicias de las inquietas mentes en su interpretación.

De vuelta al exterior, el primer momento es incierto... Uno nunca sabe si había más luz dentro o fuera de la Magistral Obra...

Silencio...

Through the Alps, just arriving to Bregenz, after an awesome trip, there´s a pearl in Konstanza lake side, the Kunsthaus of Peter Zumthor. Just going throug the welcome Square, great transition between the lake and the city, we get into a incredible space, where the space is showed to us nude and extremely complex: also the module, which is perfectly executed through all the building, keep our minds surprised. When you leave it, you never know if there was more light inside or outside the Master Piece...

Silence...
